Buying Sarees Online in Australia: How to Choose Style, Fit and Price

By Abhishek Arora · Style World, Aintree · Updated 25 Oct 2026 · 4 min read

Quick answer

Check four things: style (ready-to-wear or traditional drape), fabric, blouse and size, and delivery time. At Style World, ready-to-wear sarees start from $100, silk sarees from $70, delivery is $16 flat Australia-wide, and you can see any saree first with virtual try-on or a free video call.

Buying a saree online in Australia is easiest when you check four things: the style (ready-to-wear or traditional drape), the fit, what’s included, and when it will arrive. Here is how to choose with confidence – and how to see a saree properly before you buy, even if you can’t visit our Aintree store.

Ready-to-wear or traditional saree?

Ready-to-wear sarees come pre-pleated and pre-stitched, so you can be dressed in minutes without learning to drape. They suit busy family functions, first-time saree wearers and long events. At Style World, ready-to-wear sarees start from $100 – see our chinon double shade, crepe and organza styles, or the ready-to-wear saree with stitched jacket at $150.

Traditional silk sarees – Banarasi and Kanjivaram – are draped the classic way and make a stronger statement for weddings, pujas and Diwali. Ours start from $70 for Kanjivaram and around $100 for Banarasi silk.

Read the listing like a buyer

  • Fabric – silk, organza and chinon look more festive; crepe and georgette are lighter and easier to wear all day.
  • Price – compare the price you’ll actually pay, including delivery, not just the discount label.
  • Blouse – check whether a blouse or blouse piece is included and whether it is stitched. If the listing doesn’t say, ask before you order.
  • Size – for ready-to-wear sarees, check the waist and blouse size. Message us your measurements and we’ll tell you what fits.

See it properly before you buy

Photos on a screen can’t show drape, sheen or exact colour. Three ways to check:

  1. Virtual try-on – take or upload a full-length photo and see yourself wearing the saree in about 30 seconds. Free for VIP members.
  2. Video call shopping – we show you sarees live from our store on WhatsApp video, including colours and stock that aren’t online.
  3. Try on in store – 251 Frontier Ave, Aintree, open every day 11am to 8pm. Book a visit so we have your picks ready.

Delivery and returns

  • Delivery: $16 flat rate anywhere in Australia with Australia Post, or free pick-up from Aintree.
  • Timing: most orders are sent within 5 business days of payment (up to 10 during Diwali and other festivals), then Australia Post usually takes 2 to 7 business days. For an event, order at least two weeks ahead.
  • Returns: change-of-mind exchange or store credit within 14 days if the saree is unworn with tags. Faulty items are covered under Australian Consumer Law. See our returns policy and shipping policy.
