Why buy your Diwali outfits in Melbourne, not from overseas

Ordering from India can be a gamble. The colour looks different on screen, the size is a little off, and by the time the parcel turns up there is no time left to swap it.

When you shop with us, you can feel the fabric, use our trial room and sort out sizing on the spot. Many of our designs are our own, so you will not see the same outfit at every party.

Only part of our range is on the website. In store we have many more colours, sizes and designs, so if you do not see what you want below, just ask.

Women’s Diwali outfits: sarees, suits, lehengas, kurtis and gowns

  • Sarees – our ready-to-wear sarees in chinon, organza and crepe are around $110 to $120 and go on in minutes. Here is how to wear a ready-to-wear saree.
  • Suits – easy to wear through a long evening of puja, dinner and visiting family.
  • Lehengas – for the bigger Diwali parties. Our lehenga buying guide helps with choosing and sizing.
  • Kurtis and gowns – simple and comfortable, and still festive enough for the night.

This year’s colours: rich jewel tones are in for Diwali 2026 – emerald green, ruby red, royal blue, wine and plum, with gold work. Neon is out. Try our emerald green ready-to-wear saree or a silk saree in deep red or purple.

Kurta pajama for men, and outfits for the kids

For men, a kurta pajama is the easiest Diwali outfit there is. Popular colours this year are maroon, emerald, midnight blue, mustard and ivory, and silk or brocade looks best at night. Come in and try a couple of sizes, and have a read of our men’s kurta pajama guide before you visit.

For boys, our cotton and silk kurta pajama sets start from $40. Our sequin cotton boys’ kurta pajama is $65 and comes in more than 10 colours, for ages 1 to 10. It is a favourite for brothers and cousins who want to match.

For girls, our soft organic cotton sharara, dhoti and lehenga sets start from 6 months and are $65 each – see all girls Diwali outfits and our kids’ Diwali outfit ideas. There are more ideas in our guide to kids’ Indian outfits.

Not sure what to pick? WhatsApp us on 0450 649 304 with the occasion, colour, size and budget for each person, and we will send you photos of what we have in store.

Matching family Diwali outfits

Matching colours look great in family Diwali photos. A simple way to do it: pick one colour (for example maroon or emerald), then choose a saree or suit for mum, a kurta pajama for dad, a sequin kurta for the boys and a sharara set for the girls. Message us your family’s sizes and we will put a matching set together. Read our matching family Diwali outfits guide.
